The Kumite Classic welcomes the “Steelwheelers” rugby team. Visit their Steel Wheel Demo and Challenge at the expo Friday May 25th at 7 pm. The Pittsburgh Steelwheelers was established in 1992. The coed team has a roster of 15 athletes that range from 19 to 65 years of age. The team travels to tournaments across the United States competing in the only full contact wheelchair sport. All players have a form of quadriplegia (meaning some impairment in all 4 limbs). The team members hail from Erie, Maryland, and Pittsburgh area.
